The Grief Library
Literary company for life's darkest days
The Spare Room by Helen Garner, a book with its pages facing the camera, Heartbreak by Florence Williams and a book whose title isn't visible sit on an outdoor table in late afternoon.

The Grief Library helps readers find books that will carry them and create space for connection. Each month starts with a book review and reflection. Look for those on the first Fridays. You can read along and join the discussion in each post’s comments. Mid-month, I’ll share another meditation, whether through an essay, a list or a resource I’ve encountered. Subscribe if you’d like to receive these posts in your email.

The Library

This is a living library of grief books I’ve read and recommend to other mourners. You’ll also find books that are on my radar, and I’ll update them as I read.

Reviews

My own experience is woven through these reviews of grief books because we all bring ourselves to the page. Comments offer space for conversation.

Literary Miscellany

These monthly missives include essays, bookish lists and other resources I’ve encountered while walking my own grief journey.
